Question
Why does my upcoming appointment say Appointment Modified?
Solution
When an upcoming appointment changes from Confirmed to Modified, it means that HotDoc can see that the practice has made a change to your appointment and the modified appointment is no longer valid.
As these changes are made from within the practice's own software, HotDoc cannot determine exactly what the change is and therefore cannot update the current appointment.
When an appointment says 'Appointment modified' the changes could include:
- A modification to your appointment, such as:
- Changing the original appointment duration or time, the type of appointment (eg. standard consultation to a long consultation) or the practitioner who your appointment is with
- If your appointment was rescheduled and moved to a different day
- If your appointment was cancelled by the practice
If you have already spoken to your practice directly via phone about your appointment and have the updated details, then no further action is required. If you have more questions about the modification, please contact your practice directly via phone for more information on how your appointment has been changed.
