Why do I need a mobile number to register an account?

When registering a new HotDoc account, an active Australian mobile phone number is required to verify your identity. We will send a five-digit verification code to this number that needs to be entered to complete the registration process.

This was the process chosen as the most reliable verification method so our practices have a valid contact should they need to be in touch with you regarding your booking. It is also the method by which they deliver appointment reminders and certain medical information.

If you are not able to access a mobile phone, you may ask a friend or family member to register a HotDoc account. HotDoc has a Family Member appointment functionality that allows people who may not have a HotDoc account to use an active member's account to request any bookings necessary without the need for additional contact details.
